Life as Train : A Long Journey

2/16/22 1:54 PM

Take your life as a train, and you? you are the driver of this train. The journey of the train is from birth to death.

People that arrive in your life, are the passengers of the train – they make your train colorful, joyful, and exciting. Some start to sing, others dance, and some other crack jokes. Some just throw trash and make your train dirty, but some others clean it for you 🙂 and they care about you, some fix your train damaged due to wear and tear and just vanish after doing the good deed. (emotionally friends, and physically doctors).

We should know our destination, and where all we want to go, a lot of people will tell what they feel right and want you to take your train in different stations as per their needs and experiences. Sometimes a good guide can save you from trouble, help you to reach your destination faster, or can reduce obstacles in your path by guiding. But they won’t be present with you till the end as well, they have their station and on that, they have to deboard your train. again you will be alone. Don’t take this as something bad, you cant deboard the train as they are not with you, you are the driver. You have to keep moving forward and give a ride to numerous people waiting for you at their stations. Maybe they can be better than the guides you had in the past, and not being optimistic all the time there may be a few bad ones as well. They can try to force themselves as the driver to your train or can make you go to wrong destinations which you didn’t want to go, so it is important to make those people deboard your train. again, it is just your train and you will be there on it till the end.

Many times we live in the illusion that things will remain for the long term, if you read the word long-term you can find it contains “term”, which can be taken as “terminate”. It will terminate too as well but after a little longer period. Concerning trains, you being the driver expecting passengers to stay from the start to the end of your journey, why would they? would you stay with a train driver even when your destination arrives? NO right!! I think that instead of thinking in terms of time, we can think about what value we can add to our passenger’s life, what addition we can add to them as in providing them a smooth ride to their goals and destinations, helping them reach a little faster. They can also support you by sharing their stories, by listening to yours. By cleaning your specs to make your vision clear. But yeah don’t take them for granted.

During the trip, some leave their items in your train, like a handkerchief, handmade cards, or gifts for you, Keeping everything with you may sometimes cover up your windshield and not allow you to see clearly due to hindrance, thereby making it difficult to drive your train. Ever bothered to think, why we have kept those items? can you sum up those feelings in one word? I will try, it’s due to “HOPE”. the hope that the passenger will come again to take their items, the hope that they will board the same train again with you as a driver, the hope that things will work out again. Hope isn’t bad at all, it is important to have hope, you can keep all the items of passengers with you hoping they will hop your train again. But only until it isn’t creating hindrance for you to drive the train. You can have a specific space fixed for keeping all your belongings, things that make you feel good while on your long journey alone, things that motivate you even in your bad times. But again I won’t suggest keeping someone’s smelly shoes just for the hope they will come back and take, the shoes will disturb you in driving and also won’t let another probable passenger (better one) board your train. It’s hard but if it’s not helping you, that must be let go.

Concluding this, The passengers were not there from the start of the journey and won’t stay till the end of the journey. Only you will stay throughout the journey 🙂 Just keep moving forward, enjoy the presence of fellow passengers and keep helping people to reach their destinations. I am doing my part of it.
